Training to Detect Mail IED Threats

The numerous recent mail threat attacks have raised awareness about the importance of being prepared to detect and respond to mail Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threats. The best method for screening mail is to use an X-ray system. Some locations use a small portable mail metal detector scanner that can be less costly. Other locations additionally deploy explosive trace detection systems that can detect if a package has been contaminated with explosives.
