DSA Executive Team

Dave Rutter, President and CEO
Dave has worked in the homeland security and national defense industry for 31 years. Prior to founding DSA Detection, Dave was Vice President of Global Support for Ion Track Instruments (later GE Security) from 2000 -2004, supervising a department of 56 individuals responsible for pre-sale demonstrations, field trials, trade show exhibitions and post-sales instrument installation training, instrument depot repair, technical documentation and program management. From 1996 - 2000, Dave was Contracts Manager at American Science and Engineering, responsible for negotiating contracts for large mobile x-ray systems used by high security and high threat government agencies. Prior to that, Dave held contract and program management positions with various defense contractors, negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with the Department of Defense.

Alan Retter, Chief Financial Officer
Prior to co-founding DSA Detection in 2005, Al had over 30 years of broad experience in financial management and government contracting. He joined Ion Track Instruments in early 2000 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Vice President in 2001. After three years of triple digit growth, he provided financial support for an IPO filing in 2002 which culminated with the sale to GE in October 2002. He continued with GE Security until early 2005. Prior to Ion Track, Al was VP Finance and CFO for Chalet Susse International and Chief Financial Officer for Gar-Doc, Inc.
